Lots of Greats

We had a slew of Greats and Great-Greats in town last week. My Great Aunt Joyce, Great Uncle Les, Great Uncle Dean and Great Aunt Linda drove from Texas and Oklahoma to visit my grandparents (rumor has it there were casino stops along the way, but that's a story for another time). They stayed in some rather swanky digs at Grandmother & Honey's complex and we had a big dinner for everyone at our house on Friday. From Makena and Reese's perspective, that translates to four Great-Greats, two Greats and two Grands.
(why is a grandparent grand, but his sibling is great? then when he becomes a great grandparent, his sibling has one-upped him and is already a great-great aunt/uncle. that doesn't seem fair. or logical. but, as usual, nobody asked me)
Here are a few pictures from what was a very special dinner.
Dean, Honey and Joyce- three of eight siblingsThe three siblings, their spouses and my Mom
My Mom, her aunt, father and uncle
Mom, Aunt Joyce and Uncle Les (an Aggie. We Longhorns are open-minded, however, and make it a point to welcome College Station graduates into our homes. but we generally don't tell the neighbors.)
Mom, Uncle Dean and Aunt Linda
Grandmother and Honey (who should officially be given the title of Great Great Grandparents, if you ask us)

So let me get this straight.. Currently I am unwelcome at your house but by May 2012 (because Lord knows that I'm not going to graduate on time with my class) I will be? : )
